Right Time for Senior In-Home Care

While Americans are living longer than ever, many require assistance with daily tasks. Approximately 28 percent of Americans age 65 or older have a disability or chronic condition that affects at least one activity of daily living, according to the Administration on Aging. It can be difficult for seniors to ask for assistance with these tasks. It may also be hard for seniors and family members to understand when it is the right time to seek assistance with senior care.

We may be able to help if seniors are displaying the following behaviors:
  • Forgetting appointments and regular responsibilities
  • Receiving tickets for distracted driving
  • Showing signs of slowing down both mentally and physically
  • Having difficulty with personal hygiene
  • Having trouble preparing meals
  • Requiring assistance after short periods of walking

Personalized Care Evaluation

When a client contacts us to inquire about receiving assistance, we start by getting to know the client. Our team schedules a time that is convenient for the client and their involved family members, and we come out to the home to perform a personalized care evaluation. Since senior care will be administered in the home, it makes sense to have more a complete picture of exactly what types of daily assistance will be needed. After the evaluation and the meeting with the client, we select a caregiver that we believe will be compatible with the client based on personality and skill set. The chosen caregiver will then work closely with the client and their family members to plan a senior home care schedule. This schedule is not set in stone, but can be altered as needs change or preferences become clear.
