About Lewy Body Dementia

Lewy body dementia (LBD) presents unique challenges for those living with it and their families. Many family members and loved ones of those who receive a diagnosis of LBD are left wondering what to expect.

As your partner in care, ComForCare wants to support your journey with LBD with education and specialized in-home care.

As a result, ComForCare has created the “About Lewy Body Dementia” video

In this 20-minute video, you will learn about the science behind Lewy body dementia, such as how abnormal protein deposits, known as Lewy bodies, build up in the brain; how they disrupt brain signals and, as a result, impair one’s thinking and ability to understand information.

We’ll also review the three common presentations of LDB:
  1. Movement disorder
  2. Cognitive/memory disorder
  3. Neuropsychiatric symptoms
Seeing the world from the perspective of the person living with LDB can help create days that are safer and more meaningful for everyone involved. We’ll share some helpful care strategies and ways to manage these presentations. We’ll also share some insights regarding what to avoid.

To receive a deeper understanding of Lewy body dementia and how to manage your loved one’s care at home.
