Disability Management with ComForCare is One on One Care

ComForCare is recognized for compassionate caregivers that are specially trained to look after persons with disabilities and give support while conveying to them a sense of personal empowerment. Children and adults with physical and other challenges often need care around the clock. We can help persons with issues such as developmental delays, cognitive disabilities, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and autism may inhibit one’s ability to perform daily tasks on their own. This is where our Disability Management program can help. We understand, too, the importance of developing a sense of independence.

We offer a large number of home care services, including but not limited to:

  • Light housekeeping
  • Help with hygiene needs
  • Toileting and bathing assistance
  • Incontinence care
  • Meal preparation according to physician recommendations
  • Transportation assistance

ComForCare is understandably different from institutions, where a person would be one of many residents receiving care. The benefit is the one on one care, leaving you no need to worry about things like overcrowding or understaffing, as your loved one is always getting direct attention and care.

Caring for a Loved One
with Dementia

ComForCare's exclusive DementiaWise® program brings caregivers to your door who are specially trained to engage and enhance the lives of those with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia while providing support and education for your family. The DementiaWise® program implements proven practices for dementia care, follows strategies to recognize behavioral triggers, and take special care to decrease challenging dementia behaviors.

Creating a personalized daily routine and setting goals is another method that directs a person with dementia toward positive emotional experiences. We encourage family members to have a schedule for health purposes, too. Our caregiver's presence offers respite for family caregivers to run errands, take a break, or take a nap. You must take time for yourself and rejuvenate.

Our caregivers are trained to guide your loved ones to engage in meaningful activities. The Joyful Memories® program creates connections in older adults using the power of music. Research shows that the areas of the brain that store musical memories are the last to deteriorate. Music often inspires those who rarely speak to sing. It encourages movement and brings out those who are becoming withdrawn.

With ComForCare at your side, you can expect your loved one to have better days, and you will both enjoy more time together.

ComForCare's DementiaWise® is recognized by the Alzheimer's Association® for incorporating evidenced-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations in the following topic areas: Alzheimer's and dementia, person-centered care, assessment, and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication.

  • "Patricia has been great with my 93 year old mother!"
She's creative and just seems to know what my mother needs and wants. She's a great aid to me knowing doctors visits, prescription pick-up and grocery runs are all taken care of - big load off my mind and schedule.
  • "The owners and nurse are fantastic!"
Always willing to take calls from my Mom and explain things in a way she and I can understand. Also walked us through the insurance process. That was not easy and their expertise was greatly appreciated.
  • "ComForCare has given me peace of mind!"
The fact that ComForCare was able to step in with certified dementia care specialists and begin caring for my father has been fantastic. The staff and caregivers are both sympathetic and empathetic and I feel it has helped my father during this difficult time. It has also given me peace of mind since I live a long distance from my father, and the communication from staff and caregivers is reassuring.
