Dementia care program creates better days for clients and families
ORLANDO, Fla. (August 2017) – Locally owned ComForCare of Greater Orlando, a premier provider of in-home care, recently completed corporate certification in DementiaWise, ComForCare’s comprehensive program designed to enhance the lives of those with dementia.
DementiaWise is a person-centered approach to care that uses behavioral interventions to help people with dementia continue to live at home, where they are most comfortable and content. The program teaches compassionate, practical strategies to support clients at all stages of dementia through the end of life. "Every 67 seconds, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. The DementiaWise program meets the Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations in the areas of Alzheimer’s and Dementia ® Disease Awareness, Strategies for Caring for the Person with Dementia, Communications and Understanding Behavior, Social Needs and Activities, and Eating Well.
