ComForCare's senior care services come in many forms and can make all the difference in keeping Mequon and West Bend senior citizens live their best life possible. Some of our most common senior care services include fall prevention, housekeeping, transportation services and companion care.
Safety and security are of the utmost importance when it comes to effective senior care. Our well trained and highly qualified caregivers can help you and your loved ones create a comprehensive senior care plan that prioritizes fall prevention while maintaining the client's independence. Depending on the client's mobility, our senior care providers can work with them to develop a fall prevention strategy especially where there are stairs, tight spaces, or slippery surfaces. In addition, many of our clients gain peace of mind knowing that their caregiver will come by on a regular and scheduled basis so that, in the event that a fall did occur, assistance would arrive.
The day to day tasks required to maintain a home can be tiresome to anyone, but to many senior citizens in Mequon and West Bend, limited mobility can make even the most basic tasks unmanageable. That's why one of ComForCare's most popular services is light housekeeping. Some clients have a senior care provider come once a day to tidy up their home and other clients only see their caregiver once a week. At ComForCare, we let our clients' needs and preferences lead the way when we develop our care plans. Some of the housekeeping duties our senior care professionals can perform are as follows:
- Meal preparation and clean up
- Changing bedding or making beds
- Taking out trash
- Laundering and ironing clothes
CPR Training for All Caregivers
We recently trained our entire staff of approximately 55 caregivers on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Our caregivers were trained on CPR and choking, life-saving techniques for both adults and children. Even though 85% of our clients are seniors, it was important for our caregivers to learn the proper techniques for seniors specifically. The American Heart Association training guidelines were used. As criteria for continued employment, we require our caregiving staff to perform quarterly in-service continuing education. Superior Caregivers We take great pride in employing qualified and compassionate people to be our caregivers. All of our caregivers go through a 10-step hiring process which includes a hand written application, skills assessment and character exam. We do reference checks, background checks, document verification and drug-testing. In addition, our caregivers are introduced to a 4-hour new employee orientation and our caregivers must wear a company uniform and badge.
