At ComForCare Scottsdale, we know that in order to provide high-quality home care services to the families we work with, we only hire the most qualified individuals to be a part of our team. At ComForCare, we take great pride in the caregivers we select. To select our caregivers, we have a rigorous 10-step hiring process to ensure they meet all of our standards for excellence.
Each one of our professional caregivers is experienced and highly trained in home care best practices. We provide continuous education to ensure the most up-to-date care techniques are used when caring for our clients.
In order to develop strong, trusting relationships between clients and caregivers, we carefully match clients with caregivers whose interests, life experiences and personalities complement their own. Before we ever select caregivers, we meet with clients, take note of their personality and speak with them about their life history, which helps us select the most compatible caregiver.

Steve Alfonsi - Owner
Steve Alfonsi is the franchise owner of ComForCare Home Care along with the founder and CEO of Vital Palliative and Royal Hospice. Steve grew up in a family where his father owned skilled nursing and rehab facilities in multiple states which gave him exposure to the senior care industry at an early age. In addition, Steve learned firsthand about caregiving by helping his mother who lost her battle to Pancreatic Cancer.
Steve also has an abundance of business leadership experience he utilizes that has enabled him to build a work culture and environment that provides quality service. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and is an active member in many organizations such as Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) and a Board Member of Arizona in-home care Association (AZNHA). When Steve is not spending his down time with his wife (Nancy) and 2 children (Cole and Morgan) he lives an active lifestyle. He exercises daily with weight training and incorporates mountain biking, snow skiing, golf and other outdoor activities into his routine to stay healthy.
Adam Arias - Business Development
Adam joined the company in 2018. He is an Arizona native who is a father to a 12-year-old boy and owner of a one-year-old Golden Retriever. In his free time, he enjoys motorcycles, biking, and time with family. In addition, Adam spends time training his golden retriever to be a therapy dog for patient visits.
Adam started working at the age of 10 delivering newspapers for the Arizona Republic. He has spent 25 years in the hospitality industry working in local 5-star resorts. In 2012 he made an industry change and got into healthcare. He enjoys educating and helping the senior population with trusted healthcare services that are needed.
Chris O’Connell - Registered Nurse
Chris O’Connell, RN, resides in Cave Creek, AZ, and has been a member of the ComForCare Senior Services Scottsdale team since 2013. She is originally from Chicago where she completed her RN degree and worked for 30 plus years in various nursing positions. Licensed in Arizona and Illinois, Chris has focused the last 20 years on providing care to the senior population as a geriatric nurse care manager. She loves serving as a patient advocate for her clients and assisting them and their families to navigate the healthcare system.
Chris relocated to AZ in 2010, loves the desert, and does not miss the Midwest winters. She has two adult children in the Chicago area and one beautiful 3-year-old granddaughter, who she visits as often as possible. Chris loves music and dancing and participates in Zumba and Yoga classes. Laughter, good food, and spending time with good friends are her favorite pastimes. Chris feels especially blessed to live and work in the warmth and sunshine of this beautiful area.
Caprial Lopez, Assistant Care Coordinator & Marketer
Caprial joined the ComForCare Scottsdale Team in February 2023. Shew grew up in a family of Caregivers and realized at a young age caring for others is her passion. She is/was very close to her grandparents and knew helping the senior community is what she loves to do. It’s the most rewarding feeling to be there for someone in need during a time of transition. Caprial has been taking steps towards growing in the healthcare field and enjoys education and training because quality care is where it starts!”
Kristen, Care Coordinator Manager
Kristen came to us from Maine in 2015, & has been in the medical profession since 2008. She has degree in Applied Science, specializing in Medical Coding. She started working as a CNA for ComForCare in 2015 & worked her way up. She left ComForCare for a few years to work in a hospital. She got married & started her beautiful family. As her passion for helping others continues to grow, in 2020, she came back to CFC as our Care Coordinator Manager. She also works closely with all the caregivers, and ensures scheduling our caregivers to meet our clients needs. When Kristen is not working, she enjoys camping & spending quality time with her family. She also has a big heart & has taken in three abandoned dogs, making life just a bit more crazy, but loving every minute of it!
