Dementia Is On The Rise
According to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation, there are an estimated 46.8 million people worldwide living with dementia in 2015. This number will almost double every 20 years, reaching 74.7 million in 2030 and 131.5 million in 2050.
What this means is the need for more specialized care is on the upward demand too! With such a growing trend our agency has implemented training that is needed to understand and meet the challenges with dementia. We have seen that the local senior community which we serve is much in need to have caregivers and C.N. A’s that have the knowledge and training to understand and help families with this challenging disease.
That is WHY - ComForCare of Scottsdale is pleased to announce that their office recently completed corporate certification in DementiaWise®, ComForCare's comprehensive care program designed to enhance the lives of those living with dementia. Using research-based behavioral intervention, DementiaWise® teaches ComForCare caregivers to understand and anticipate changes caused by dementia and to use compassionate, practical strategies that help prevent and reduce difficult dementia behavior.
