Meet the Owners of ComForCare in Calabasas, CA
Mickey and Nancy Landesberg: Toronto Expats, Parents, Advocates for People in Need
Mickey’s Story
I worked in the entertainment business for 25 years, working mainly with major movie studios, the last of which was Sony Pictures. Toward the end of my 15 years with Sony, I was ready for a change. I wanted to do something that I could really get behind. The prospect of owning my own business while helping others made me even more excited to get started.
Around the time I began thinking of making the switch, my wife Nancy was ready to go back to work. With our two children getting older, it seemed like the perfect time for both of us to embark on something brand new together. We are a great team. We love bringing our attention, care, and expertise to help people who really need it.
Mickey’s Background
- Marketing and Business Administration degree from George Brown College (Toronto)
- The leader of Conejo Valley Senior Resource Network through the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce
Nancy’s Story
Back before Mickey and I got married, I worked with adults with developmental disabilities. In Toronto, I served as a caregiver and liaison between the clients, their families, and our therapists. The work helped the community, and I always felt like I was making a difference.
So, when Mickey and I were looking to start our own business together, home care was the obvious and natural choice. The ability to help others and inspire them to live their best lives is what I’ve always enjoyed most – be it in my professional work or in volunteering with community associations.
Nancy’s Background
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology from York University (Toronto)
- Experience working with older adults with developmental disabilities
