Our Passion for This Business (WHY)

We operate as a family-owned business managed by a mother-daughter team. Prior to collaborating with ComForCare, we had the unique experience of working in nursing homes in varying administrative roles. In that setting, we saw many older adults who were not provided the option of receiving care in their home mainly because they did not know home care services existed. As a result, all of their familiar objects and surroundings became a distant past that really changed their emotional well-being. While we truly believe in facility-based care, we also want to provide a viable home care option in our marketplace and fill a gap for those who desire to remain in their home through the end of life.

In order to accomplish this, it really takes the right balance between serving passionately, allowing clients and their families to understand how to navigate their choices and taking the time to educate them, while also focusing on safety and love to help older adults thrive at home. We take pride in bringing meaning and purpose to our work as we care for our clients like family.

Experience

We both started our careers in nursing homes and are drawn to helping older adults and their families. Working in various operational and direct care roles has really allowed us to experience a variety of aging needs and gain tremendous insight. We don’t want families to learn by mistake or through a friend; rather, our families can rely on us for guidance and input that we’ll draw upon from past experiences. 

In addition, we had a family member live with us for seven years who was diagnosed with Alzehimer’s. Having experienced supporting a loved one with this progressive disease allowed us to understand and value the need for home care.

What You Can Expect

We celebrate older adults and recognize that they as individuals are their legacy—age doesn’t have to define who you are. We will honor and respect choices and simply modify our approach to meet the needs of our clients’ remaining abilities. Our empathetic approach starts by understanding what has led to an older adult needing our care and what their desire is to age in place from the comfort of their own home. We are here to maintain an individual’s own personal schedule and routine—we’re working on their time, at their pace, not ours. When we take this approach, we can together drive our company mission which is to help our clients live their best lives possible. We’re just happy to be part of that journey.
