In-Home Parkinson's Disease Care
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a degenerative neurological disorder with symptoms such as tremors, muscle rigidity, slowness in movement and postural instability. Sharing in your loved one's journey with PD means integrating the diagnosis into your lives, adapting your routine and supporting your loved one as the disease progresses, which essentially requires you to establish a care partnership. From learning about the disease to learning about how it is affecting your loved one on a daily basis, establishing this partnership can be a challenging process.
Co-owner Melissa Morante is our Parkinson’s Care Expert. A board member of the American Parkinson Disease Association South Florida Chapter, support group facilitator, certified group fitness instructor with a specialty in senior fitness and Parkinson’s exercise, Melissa is responsible for training our caregivers on both motor and non-motor symptoms, disease progression and the importance of timing and food when taking Parkinson’s medications. She has a unique understanding of the disease and how to work with those living with Parkinson’s.
