At ComForCare Home Care in Boise, ID, we value our caregivers, and we want to help them grow their skills, professionalism and knowledge. That’s why we created an ongoing caregiver education plan called the Caregiver Career Path Program. This program is designed to support our staff by addressing caregiver growth in five categories:
During the education portion of our Caregiver Career Path Program, ComForCare caregivers complete a series of courses and pass an exam on a variety of healthcare-related topics, such as general care, specialized care and personal wellness.
The professional development category is designed to build on our caregivers’ education and certify them in home care-related services. These certifications include (but are not limited to):
At ComForCare Home Care, we want to make sure that our Boise caregivers are providing the best support possible for the older adults in their care. That’s why we include accountability as part of our Caregiver Career Path Program. Through the accountability section, caregivers will present accurate, timely documentation and will demonstrate their ability to plan and make decisions that benefit their clients.
Considering client feedback is an important step in helping older adults to live their best life possible. Through our client feedback section, caregivers are able to receive a quarterly evaluation from the client in their care. This feedback is then used to develop strategies to improve the client’s experience.
The final category, professional recognition, is designed to recognize our caregivers for the work they’ve done through in-home care services. These recognitions include: presentations of achievement by local professionals in the Healthcare field, peer-to-peer presentations from caregivers modeling the techniques they use and achievement recognitions as each caregiver moves through the Career Path Program.
