“I really love what I do.”
We’re All Family
I want to say one thing: I love what I do. I really, truly do. It has been quite a journey to get here, but I know it in my heart that I made the right choice when I decided to work with ComForCare.
In my previous life, I worked for a large corporation, flew from city to city, and spent far too much time away from home and family. I knew that wasn’t in line with my personal values. I wanted a career which would allow me to help people and provide me the opportunity to do the right thing. That is what I am most passionate about. That’s why we are committed to doing the right thing for both our clients and caregivers. We won’t treat you any differently from how we treat our own family, and we take great pride in that.
I Love When We Get It Right
At ComForCare, we take great pride in working until we get it right. We don’t put people in situations that aren’t positive for all parties involved. And when we accomplish this, I am elated. For example, I had one client who didn’t believe he needed any help despite his family's insistence. He was becoming withdrawn and angry. I said to him, “Alright, let’s just try a few things and see if it can help. We can stop anytime.” We were able match him with a caregiver whom he just adored. They formed a special bond. It changed his life around. Now, the client is involved with the senior center. He smiles more and has become markedly more sociable. Really, he is just a million times happier. And this, in turn, makes my team and me very happy. That’s my “why.”
