ComForCare Montgomery County Receives the Home Care Standards Bureau A+ Rating

In 2017, ComForCare Montgomery County was one of 110 agencies in the country to receive the Home Care Standards Bureau’s A+ Rating. With more than 20,000 non-medical home care agencies in the United States, ComForCare of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania is one of the select agencies to receive the A+ rating by meeting the most stringent standards. The HCSB only grants the A+ rating to home care agencies that meet and adhere to a code of standards and ethics--including comprehensive background checks and annual training for all caregivers. Once achieved, A+ rated agencies, such as ComForCare, must submit regular disclosure statements to ensure that all standards are being maintained, including proper insurance and state licensing. 

HCSB A+ rated agencies also are subject to planned and surprise audits by the HCSB.

To maintain an HCSB rating ComForCare must provide the highest standard of non-medical senior care personal care, and respite care, including companionship, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, medication reminder, errands, doctor visits, and specialty care to clients throughout the surrounding regions.

ComForCare Franchise Owner Appointed to the Pennsylvania Homecare Association Public Policy Committee for 2019

DETROIT (January 31, 2019) – ComForCare of Montgomery County, PA franchise owner, Cassandra Poland, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Homecare Association (PHA) Public Policy Committee for 2019. PHA is a state trade association representing nearly 700 home care and hospice providers.

"It is an honor to serve on the 2019 Public Policy Committee for the Pennsylvania Home Care Association," said Poland. "This committee allows me to use my voice to help advocate for federal and state legislation for an aging population, which I hope will be beneficial not only to my clients at ComForCare, but the entire state of Pennsylvania."

The mission of PHA is to promote and advance home care through its members. Members of the association provide medical care, personal care and end-of-life care for those with terminal illnesses. Efforts include advocating on behalf of patients and consumers, interpreting and developing regulations and legislation, as well as exploring needs and business strategies.

Poland is a United States military veteran who served in the Army as a medical lab specialist for seven years. After retiring to civilian life and working for a Fortune 100 company, she wanted to run her own business. Poland took ownership of the Montgomery County ComForCare location in 2016.

Cassandra Poland Completes the 10,000 Small Businesses-Greater Philadelphia Program

PHILADELPHIA—Cassandra Poland, owner of ComForCare Home Care of Montgomery County Southeast, was among the seventeenth cohort of 30 graduates who recently completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses-Greater Philadelphia program. ComForCare Home Care is a premier private duty, non-medical home care agency providing services to senior citizens and persons with disabilities. We service Montgomery County and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Our caregivers offer compassionate and professional home care to help with the acts of daily living. We can help in at least 50 ways. Among others, our services include bathing, grooming, meal preparation, transportation/errands, transfers, ambulation aid and companionship. We offer family respite programs so that tired caregivers can attend to their own needs.

10,000 Small Businesses has changed the way I think about being a business owner. Throughout the program I have learned skills that I have put into practice immediately.

The business leaders have spent 14 weeks - roughly 100 class hours - at the Community College of Philadelphia studying a business and management curriculum designed by Babson College and delivered by Community College of Philadelphia faculty. The curriculum covered accounting, human resources, negotiation and marketing, among other topics. The program also included one-on-one business advising, accounting workshops and advice from Goldman Sachs professionals.
